Dear Room 21 Parents and Families,
Welcome to third grade at
Rieke Elementary School! I am looking forward to an exciting year filled
with academic, social, and emotional growth for all students. Together it
is our job as parents and teacher to help create feelings of confidence,
self-worth, and success in your child. By working as a team from school
to home we will surely accomplish this and much more! I thank you ahead
of time for your support throughout the year.
I strongly believe in an
open line of communication between home and school. I would love to talk via
e-mail, phone, or through a scheduled appointment. Please let me know if
you have any questions, comments or concerns as we begin the year. You
will find my contact information at the end of this letter. I often use
e-mail or my blog to communicate with parents. If you don’t have access to a
computer let me know so I can send home hard copies of any information I send
out through e-mail.
Included in this packet you
will find three very important papers. The first is an “About Your Child”
survey. Please take the time to fill this out and return it to me as soon
as possible. The more I know about your child the better I will be able
to meet his/her individual needs. The second paper is a request for
family contact information (please return this to me as well). The third paper
contains general information about our third grade policies and procedures.
Hopefully these reminders will help smooth the transition back to school.
We
will discuss other classroom policies, schedules, homework, and curriculum at
Rieke’s Back to School Night on Thursday, September 15th, at 6:30 pm. I hope to
see you there, and at Rieke’s Welcome Back Picnic on Thursday, September 8th at 6:00. Until then if you have any
questions, please feel free to call, schedule a meeting time, or email me.
I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.
