Writing:  Informative piece

Reading:  Continue studying character using book club groups

Math:  Fractions and multiplication--You've probably seen the Home Connections coming home.  I ask that the kids do these although not required.  This being their first formal introduction to multiplication tables, I want them to have a solid foundation so they can continue their forward progress.  They would be best served if they start memorizing these now.

It would be ideal if they knew their multiplication tables through 12x12 by the beginning of 4th grade.  It will make math and the new concepts much easier for them.  Just so you know, in 5th grade the first unit is review of multiplication so they definitely need to be fluent with their multiplication tables up to 12x12 on the very first day of 5th grade.  They will quickly get behind and frustrated if they don't know them at that time.

Social Studies:  Continuing the study of Portland

Field trip coming up Thursday, March 23.  Please be sure to pay if you haven't already.  Since there were so many on line payments, I didn't keep track because I don't have access to that system.  If you can't remember, please as the office.
